SPORT
Renwick School offers a wide range of sporting options at both school and regional level. The list below reflects sports typically offered each year but may change depending on numbers each season. Sports not listed are available through local clubs, which hold their own muster events at the start of each season — we share club information in our weekly newsletter.
Sport team organisation is handled by the Administration staff — contact office@renwick.school.nz for winter and summer team sports. Our two PE teachers manage one-off events, festivals, and sport taster days held during school hours — contact sports@renwick.school.nz.
We use our school newsletter and Hero to communicate about sport. Registration information and cancellations are both managed through Hero. Sport uniforms are distributed at the start of each season and must be cared for and returned at season’s end.
Summer Sport
(contact office@renwick.school.nz) Volleyball · Rippa Rugby · Touch Rugby · Summer Football · Tennis · Summer Hockey · Softball
Cricket is organised through clubs — we recommend the Renwick Cricket Club.

Winter Rugby and Football/Soccer are organised by club teams. We recommend Renwick Football Club (find them on Facebook) and Renwick Rugby Club. More information at Marlborough Football and Tasman Rugby.

All students are welcome to join our kapa haka group, Ruia te Kakano. The group performs at the annual Kapa Haka festival and at school assemblies and events.
CAMPS & EOTC
(Education Outside the Classroom)
We highly value education outside the classroom and provide day trips and camps to develop a range of outdoor skills and experiences.
| Camp | Year group | Duration | Timing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pine Valley Camp | Year 4 | 2 nights | Late Term 3 / Term 4 |
| Pakahukahu Camp* | Year 5/6 | 3 days | See note |
| Kaitiaki Camp* | Year 7/8 | 4 days | See note |
| Abel Tasman Tramp | Year 8 | 5 days | Late Term 4 |
Venue and timing change each year.
Following community consultation in 2019, the Board of Trustees accepted the government’s funding offer. School costs are now limited to stationery, overnight camps, and sport fees. We aim to advise Year 4–8 families of camp costs as early as possible each year.
